T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in July 2020 with 148 tenders and a 35.6% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 134 tenders and a 32.2% share and Power Plant with 91 tenders and a 21.9% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 77 tenders and an 84.6% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: eight tenders and an 8.8% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 6.6% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in July 2020

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 84 tenders with an 89.4% share, followed by hydro with six tenders and a 6.4% share and thermal with three tenders and a 3.2% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in July 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. NSW Coalition State Government: 8,000MW from one tender
  2. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,090MW from three tenders
  3. Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (India) and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (India): 100MW capacity from one tender.
