T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in October 2019 with 302 tenders and a 51.4% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 113 tenders and a 19.2% share and Generation Equipment with 99 tenders and a 16.8% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 51 tenders and a 91.1% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 5.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two tenders and a 3.6% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in October 2019
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 52 tenders with a 92.9% share, followed by thermal with three tenders and a 5.4% share and wind with one tender and a 1.8% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in October 2019: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- NTPC (India): 1,090.29MW from six tenders
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 600MW from two tenders
- Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments (India), Rajasthan Renewable Energy (India) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (India): 50MW capacity from one tender.
