T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in September 2020 with 160 tenders and a 38.8% share, followed by T&D Project with 108 tenders and a 26.2% share and Power Plant with 87 tenders and a 21.1% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 72 tenders and an 82.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: ten tenders and an 11.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 5.7% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in September 2020
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 78 tenders with an 87.6% share, followed by hydro with six tenders and a 6.7% share and wind with four tenders and a 4.5% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in September 2020: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- IFC Advisory: 500MW from one tender
- Gujarat State Electricity (India): 210MW from one tender
- Bangladesh Power Development Board (Bangladesh), Ministry of Energy, Uzbekistan, Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, Public – Private Partnership Development Agency under the Ministry of Finance (PPPDA) and Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 100MW capacity from one tender.
