T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2021 with 217 tenders and a 36.5% share, followed by Power Plant with 125 tenders and a 21% share and Generation Equipment with 109 tenders and an 18.3% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 101 tenders and an 80.8% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 14 tenders and an 11.2% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: ten tenders and an 8% share.

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 111 tenders with an 89.5% share, followed by hydro with seven tenders and a 5.6% share and wind with three tenders and a 2.4% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in Q3 2021: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. NHPC (India): 2,345MW from six tenders
  2. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,301MW from three tenders
  3. NTPC (India): 800MW capacity from two tenders.
