T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q4 2021 with 184 tenders and a 39.1% share, followed by Power Plant with 89 tenders and an 18.9% share and Generation Equipment with 79 tenders and a 16.8% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 69 tenders and a 77.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: ten tenders and an 11.2% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: ten tenders and an 11.2% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in Q4 2021

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 72 tenders with a 76.6% share, followed by hydro with eight tenders and an 8.5% share and wind with six tenders and a 6.4% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in Q4 2021: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Hindustan Salts (India): 5,000MW from two tenders
  2. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 2,405MW from three tenders
  3. Greenko MP01 IREP Private: 1,440MW capacity from one tender.
