There were 21 smart grid tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2021, marking a drop of 5% over the last four-quarter average of 22, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2021 with 217 tenders and a 36.5% share, followed by Power Plant with 125 tenders and a 21% share and Generation Equipment with 109 tenders and an 18.3% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 19 tenders and a 90.5% share
2. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 4.8% share
3. Project Implementation: one tender and a 4.8% share.

Looking at smart grid tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for two tenders with a 66.7% share, followed by thermal with one tender and a 33.3% share.
