The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 50 contracts and a 52.1% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 25 contracts and a 26% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: 20 contracts and a 20.8% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 1% share.

India tops Asia-Pacific solar power contracts activity

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology contracts recorded in Q2 2020 with 27 contracts and a 28.1% share, followed by China with 16 contracts and a 16.7% share and Australia with 12 contracts and a 12.5% share.

Asia-Pacific solar technology contracts in Q2 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 10,400MW from nine contracts
  2. NHPC (India): 2,000MW from five contracts
  3. Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (India): 700MW capacity from three contracts.

The top winners of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Adani Green Energy (India): 8,000MW from one contract
  2. EDEN Renewables India L (India) and SB Energy (Japan): 600MW from one contract
  3. Avaada Energy Pvt (India): 570MW capacity from two contracts.
