Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders activity down 8% in May 2020

There were 110 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in May 2020, marking a drop of 8% over the last 12-month average of 119, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in May 2020 with 212 tenders and a 51.8% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 110 tenders and a 26.9% share and Generation Equipment with 40 tenders and a 9.8% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 89 tenders and an 80.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 21 tenders and a 19.1% share.

Hydro is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders in May 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, hydro accounted for four tenders with a 57.1% share, followed by thermal with three tenders and a 42.9% share.
