Oil was the top category in thermal technology in terms of number of tenders for the quarter in Asia-Pacific, accounting for 217 tenders and a 69.3% share, followed by Coal with 79 tenders and a 25.2% share. Gas stood in third place with 17 tenders and a 5.4% share.

The Philippines was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for thermal technology tenders recorded in Q2 2019 with 193 tenders and a 61.5% share, followed by India with 87 tenders and a 27.7% share and Bangladesh with 13 tenders and a 4.1% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Ministry of Electricity and Energy (Myanmar): 1,040MW from one tender
- Assam Power Generation (India): 975MW from two tenders
- Kolachi Portgen Pvt (Pakistan): 450MW capacity from one tender.
