The Az Zour North II & III IWPP is 2,700MW gas fired power project. It is planned in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2024.

The project is being developed by Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects and Ministry of Electricity and Water. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.
It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be liquefied natural gas. In case of shortage of liquefied natural gas the plant will run on Gas Oil.
The project cost is expected to be around $2,545.753m.
The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Ministry of Electricity and Water under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
