Baise is a 540MW hydro power project. It is located on Yu river/basin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2001 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2005.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Guangxi Youjiang Water Conservancy Development.

Baise is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 5,660 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 88m. The project generated 1,701 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $589.4m.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to China Southern Power Grid under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Voith Hydro Shanghai was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of francis turbines, each with 135MW nameplate capacity.
