Description

The project was developed by Orsted. Greencoat UK Wind, Kirkbi and Orsted are currently owning the project.

The wind turbines in the Burbo Bank Phase I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Burbo Bank Phase IIA are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Burbo Bank Phase IIB are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The Tubular Steel towers installed at the Burbo Bank (Burbo Bank Phase I), site are 83.5m high.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2007 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in October 2007.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Burbo Bank (Burbo Bank Phase I) is sold to Statkraft under a power purchase agreement for a period of 2 years from 2011. The contracted capacity is 45MW.

Contractors involved

Burbo Bank (Burbo Bank Phase I) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SWT-3.6-107 turbines. The phase consists of 25 turbines with 3.6MW nameplate capacity.

Burbo Bank (Burbo Bank Phase IIA) is equipped with Vestas Offshore Wind V164-8.0 MW Offshore turbines. The phase consists of 7 turbines with 8MW nameplate capacity.

Burbo Bank (Burbo Bank Phase IIB) is equipped with Vestas Offshore Wind V164-8.0 MW Offshore turbines. The phase consists of 25 turbines with 8MW nameplate capacity.

Orsted, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Vestas Offshore Wind were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
