Cabra Corral, Argentina

Cabra Corral is a 102MW hydro power project. It is located on Guachipas, Rosario and Arias river/basin in Salta, Argentina. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 1978.

The project was developed by Panedile Argentina SAICF eI and is currently owned by AES Argentina Generacion with a stake of 100%.

Cabra Corral is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 3,130 million cubic meter. The penstock length is 185.09m. The project generated 250 GWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 1978.

Contractors Involved

Litostroj Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 34MW nameplate capacity.

Koncar – Elektroindustrija supplied 3 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 40 MVA.
