Description
The project is co-owned by Florida Municipal Power Agency and Kissimmee Utility Authority, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from FLorida Gas Transmission, Gulfstream.
The Gas fired project consists of 1 steam turbine with 82.5MW nameplate capacity.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in January 2002.
Contractors Involved
GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 1 unit of 7E.03 gas turbine with 167.5MW nameplate capacity.
John Cockerill Group supplied steam boiler for the project.
