The project was developed by GasAtacama Chile and is currently owned by Enel Generacion Chile.
The Canela (Canela Phase I), has 70m high towers.
The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in December 2007.
Canela (Canela Phase I) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V82-1.65 MW turbines. The phase consists of 11 turbines with 1.65MW nameplate capacity.
Canela (Canela Phase II) is equipped with Nordex AW-82/1500 turbines. The phase consists of 40 turbines with 1.5MW nameplate capacity.
Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the Canela (Canela Phase I). The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2007, for a period of 2 years.
