Cheakamus is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 55 million cubic meter. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 2 in number. Cheakamus underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 1988. The project generated 590 GWh of electricity.
