The project is developed and owned by Sri Sarvaraya Sugars.
Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.
Chelluru Biomass Power Plant (Chelluru-I) consists of 1 unit of Extraction Cum Condensing type Multistage Turbine turbine with 12.65MW nameplate capacity.
Chelluru Biomass Power Plant (Chelluru-II) consists of 1 unit of Back Pressure Turbine turbine with 4MW nameplate capacity.
Chelluru Biomass Power Plant (Chelluru-III) consists of 1 unit of Back Pressure Turbine turbine with 1MW nameplate capacity.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in December 2008.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh under a power purchase agreement.
