The project was developed by Webuild and is currently owned by AES Andes with a stake of 100%.
Chivor is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 569.64 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 756m. The penstock length is 8,000m. Chivor underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2019-2020, 2021-2024. The project generated 4,015 GWh of electricity.
The hydro power project consists of 6 turbines, each with 125MW nameplate capacity.
The project has 6 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 140 MVA.
