The project was developed by American Electric Power Services and is currently owned by Appalachian Power.
The hydro reservoir capacity is 277.53 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 110m. The project generated 184.384 GWh of electricity.

The turbines for the hydro power project have been supplied by Newport News Industrial and Voith Hydro Holding.
