Description

The project was developed by SSE. SSE, Greencoat UK Wind and GLIL Infrastructure are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50.1%, 28.2% and 21.7% respectively.

The project generates 1,000GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 200,000 households.

Contractors involved

Siemens Canada was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Clyde Wind Farm (Clyde Wind Farm Phase 1) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy turbines. The phase consists of 56 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.

Clyde Wind Farm (Clyde Wind Farm Phase 2) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy turbines. The phase consists of 69 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.

Clyde Wind Farm (Clyde Wind Farm Phase 3) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy turbines. The phase consists of 27 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2011, for a period of 20 years.

The wind power project consists of 80m high towers supplied by Wind Towers.
