Description

The project was developed by ESB International and is currently owned by Corby Power with a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant that is used for Reserve. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Fuel Oil.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in February 1994.

The power generated from the project is sold to National Power under a power purchase agreement.

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 1 steam turbine with 114MW nameplate capacity.
