Description

The project is developed and owned by Covanta Onondaga. The company has a stake of 100%.

The project generates 220GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 32,000 households, offsetting 4,000,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste is used as a feedstock to power the project.

The project consists of 1 turbine with 39.5MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in February 1995.

Contractors Involved

MARTIN supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 13.75TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 830Degree Fahrenheit. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 865psig.

Covanta Onondaga is the O&M contractor for the project, commencing from the year 1995.
