Dahua, China

Dahua is a 615MW hydro power project. It is located on Hongshui river/basin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1975 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1983.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Guangxi Guiguan Electric Power. The company has a stake of 100%.

Dahua is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 815 million cubic meter. Dahua underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 1998-2002, 2007-2009. The project generated 3,319 GWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 1975 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1983.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to China Southern Power Grid under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

IMPSA was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 5 units of kaplan turbines, each with 123MW nameplate capacity.

DEC Dongfang Electric Machinery supplied 4 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 100 MVA.
