Digri Sugar Mill CHP Power Plant is a 25MW biopower project. It is planned in Sindh, Pakistan. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2023 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2024.

Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Digri-Gen.

The project cost is expected to be around $58.46m.

The process of combustion will be adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.

The project consists of 1 turbine with 25MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Hyderabad Electric Supply under a power purchase agreement at the rate of $0.064kWh.
