The project was developed by Altenergy S.A. de and Bontex. The project is currently owned by Celsia with a stake of 100%.
Dos Mares Prudencia is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 41m and 39.8m respectively. The project generated 273.15 GWh of electricity.

Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Empresa de Transmision Electrica under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of kaplan turbines, each with 29MW nameplate capacity.
GE Renewable Energy supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 33 MVA.
