Entracque – Chiotas is a 1,184MW hydro power project. It is located on Piastra river/basin in Piedmont, Italy. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1962 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1981.

Description

The project is currently owned by Enel.

Entracque – Chiotas is a pumped storage project. The gross head of the project is 1,048m. The project generated 1,040 GWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 1962 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1981.

Contractors Involved

Franco Tosi Meccanica was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 8 turbines, each with 147.5MW nameplate capacity.

The electric generators for the project were procured from Ansaldo Energia and Ercole Marelli Power.
