The FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant is 1,486MW gas fired power project. It is planned in Texas, the US. The project is currently in permitting stage. Description

The project is being developed by FGE Texas and Starwood Energy Group Global. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.

It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant will run on Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel.

The project cost is expected to be around $1,200m.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by May 2023.

Contractors Involved

SNC-Lavalin Constructors is expected to render EPC services for the FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant (FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant I).

FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant (FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant I) will be equipped with Siemens Energy SGT6-5000F gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines with 238.9MW nameplate capacity.

FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant (FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant I) will be equipped with Siemens Energy SST6-5000 steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 265.2MW nameplate capacity.

FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant (FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant II) will be equipped with Siemens Energy SGT6-5000F gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines with 238.9MW nameplate capacity.

FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant (FGE Texas Westbrook Gas Fired Power Plant II) will be equipped with Siemens Energy SST6-5000 steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 265.2MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Energy is expected to be the supplier of SGen6-1000A electric generator for the project.

GE Power is likely to be the supplier of steam boiler for the project.
