Generation equipment contracts in October 2021 saw 48 contracts announced, marking a drop of 51% over the last 12-month average of 98, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 40 contracts and an 83.3% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and an 8.3% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 4.2% share
  4. Project Implementation: two contracts and a 4.2% share.

Europe leads generation equipment activity in October 2021

Comparing contracts activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 22 contracts and a share of 45.8% during October 2021, followed by North America with 11 contracts and a 22.9% share and Asia-Pacific with nine contracts and an 18.8% share.

Wind is leading technology for generation equipment contracts in October 2021

Among the technologies, wind accounted for 27 contracts with a 56.3% share, followed by solar with 11 contracts and a 22.9% share and thermal with four contracts and an 8.3% share.
