Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the top position in terms of number of contracts during August 2021 with a 51.9% share.
The proportion of contracts by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 50 contracts and a 40% share
- Project Implementation: 39 contracts and a 31.2% share
- Supply & Erection: 27 contracts and a 21.6% share
- Electricity Supply: six contracts and a 4.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 1.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 0.8% share.

By GlobalDataComparing contracts activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 54 contracts and a share of 43.2% during August 2021, followed by North America with 37 contracts and a 29.6% share and Europe with 13 contracts and a 10.4% share.
In fourth place was Middle East and Africa with 13 contracts and a 10.4% share and in fifth place was South and Central America with eight contracts and a 6.4% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Solar technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:
- Government of Iraq (Iraq): 2,000MW from one contract
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,600MW from five contracts
- Tenaga Nasional (Malaysia): 576MW capacity from 12 contracts.
