Onshore was the top category in wind technology in terms of number of contracts for the month, accounting for 49 contracts and a 59.8% share, followed by Offshore with 33 contracts and a 40.2% share.

Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, wind held the second position in terms of number of contracts during November 2021 with a 31.6% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Wind technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 30 contracts and a 37% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 26 contracts and a 32.1% share
  3. Project Implementation: 11 contracts and a 13.6% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: nine contracts and an 11.1% share
  5. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and a 3.7% share
  6. Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 2.5% share.

Europe leads wind contracts activity in November 2021

Comparing contracts activity in wind technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 50 contracts and a share of 61.7% during November 2021, followed by North America with 13 contracts and a 16% share and Asia-Pacific with 11 contracts and a 13.6% share.

In fourth place was South and Central America with six contracts and a 7.4% share and in fifth place was Middle East and Africa with one contract and a 1.2% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Wind technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners KS (Denmark): 10,000MW from one contract
  2. EDF (United States): 1,400MW from one contract
  3. Danske Commodities (Denmark): 480MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Acciona (Spain), Boskalis (Netherlands), DEME Group (Belgium) and MT Hojgaard Holding (Denmark): 10,000MW from one contract
  2. RWE (Germany): 1,400MW from one contract
  3. Doggerbank Offshore Wind Farm Project three Projco (United Kingdom): 1,200MW capacity from four contracts.
