Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the second position in terms of number of tenders during October 2021 with a 41.4% share.
The proportion of tenders by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 91 tenders and a 75.2% share
- Supply & Erection: 11 tenders and a 9.1% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: seven tenders and a 5.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: seven tenders and a 5.8% share
- Electricity Supply: two tenders and a 1.7% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two tenders and a 1.7% share

By GlobalDataComparing tenders activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Middle East and Africa held the top position with 51 tenders and a share of 42.1% during October 2021, followed by Asia-Pacific with 28 tenders and a 23.1% share and Europe with 23 tenders and a 19% share.
In fourth place was North America with 14 tenders and an 11.6% share and in fifth place was South and Central America with five tenders and a 4.1% share.

Solar technology tenders in October 2021: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of tenders in Solar technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:
- Renewable Energy and Electricity Efficiency Organization: 10,000MW from one tender
- Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (South Africa): 2,600MW from one tender
- Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (India): 1,694MW capacity from two tenders.
