Description

The project was developed by Guodian Dadu River Hydropower Development. GD Power Development, China Energy Investment and Sichuan Chuantou Energy Stock are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 69%, 21% and 10% respectively.

Gongzui is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 345 million cubic meter. Gongzui underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2002-2012. The project generated 4,020 GWh of electricity.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 1966 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1972.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to State Grid Corporation of China under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Dongfang Electric was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 7 units of francis turbines, each with 110MW nameplate capacity.
