Hassi R’Mel Dual Fuel Power Plant is a 591MW dual-fuel fired power project. It is located in Laghouat, Algeria. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 2015.

Description

The project was developed by GE Power and Metka. The project is currently owned by Societe Algerienne de Production de l’Electricite.

It is a Gas Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel.

The project cost is $520m.

GE Power and Metka were selected to render EPC services for the dual-fuel fired power project.

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for thermal power project. The project consists of 3 units of 9FA turbines, each with 197MW nameplate capacity.

GE Power supplied electric generator for the project.
