The project was developed by Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower Group and is currently owned by China Huaneng Group with a stake of 100%.
Huaneng Jinghong is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 1,139 million cubic meter. The project generated 6,362 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $1,230.3m.

The project construction commenced in 2003 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2008.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to China Southern Power Grid under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
Harbin Electric Machinery was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 5 units of francis turbines, each with 350MW nameplate capacity.
Dongfang Electric supplied 5 electric generators for the project.
