The project is developed and owned by Empresa de Generacion Huanza.
Huanza is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 654m. The penstock length is 2,800m. The project generated 482.017 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $257m.

The project construction commenced in 2010 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2014.
Contractors Involved
Astaldi was selected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.
Chongqing Water Turbine Works was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of pelton turbines, each with 47.8MW nameplate capacity.
Chongqing Water Turbine Works supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 53.2 MVA.
