Description

The project was developed by CoGen and is currently owned by Peel Environmental.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 40,000 households, offsetting 65,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $122m.

The process of gasification has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Wood waste which is a kind of wood by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 2018.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Npower under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

MBV Energy Recovery was selected to render EPC services for the biopower project.
