Description

The project is developed and owned by Mass Group Holding. The company has a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel. The fuel is procured from Khormor Gas Field Station.

The project got commissioned in May 2008.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Kurdistan's Ministry of Electricity under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 500MW.

Erbil Gas Power Station (Erbil Gas Power Station Block I Phase II) is equipped with GE Power GE-C7 steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 250MW nameplate capacity.

Erbil Gas Power Station (Erbil Gas Power Station Block II Phase I) is equipped with GE Power 9E gas turbines. The phase consists of 4 gas turbines with 125MW nameplate capacity.
