Description
The project is developed and owned by SSE Renewables Holdings (UK).
The project generates 85,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 16,000 households, offsetting 66,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain II) consists of 13 turbines with 0.85MW nameplate capacity.
Development Status
The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in July 2003.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to SSE Renewables Holdings (UK) under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
Aertech was selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.
Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain I) is equipped with Nordex N80 (2.5 MW) turbines. The phase consists of 10 turbines with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.
Nordex is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 5 years.
