It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is coal. In case of shortage of coal the plant can also run on Diesel. The fuel is procured from Gevra & Kusmunda Mines Of South Eastern Coalfields Ltd..

State Grid Shandong Electric Power was selected to render EPC services for the coal fired power project.

Dongfang Electric (India) was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project. The company provided 4 units of Double Cylinder, Impulse, Condensing, Nozzle & Throttle-Foverned steam turbines, each with 135MW nameplate capacity.

Harbin Boiler supplied steam boiler for the project.

Bharat Aluminium is the O&M contractor for thermal power project.
