Description
The project is currently owned by Thermal Power Plants and Open Pit Mines Kostolac with a stake of 100%.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is lignite. In case of shortage of lignite the plant can also run on Heavy Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Drmno Open Cast Mine.

The project got commissioned in 1987.
Contractors Involved
Zamech Elblag was selected as the turbine supplier for thermal power project. The project consists of 2 units of 18-K-348 turbines, each with 348.5MW nameplate capacity.
Koncar Generators and Motors supplied electric generator for the Kostolac B Thermal Power Plant (Kostolac B Thermal Power Plant Unit II).
SES Tlmace supplied steam boiler for the Kostolac B Thermal Power Plant (Kostolac B Thermal Power Plant Unit I).
