The project was developed by Energiedienst Holding AG-Kraftwerk Augst AG joint venture and is currently owned by Energiedienst Holding.

Laufenburg – Germany is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 10.1m. Laufenburg – Germany underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 1929-1960, 1989-1994. The project generated 350 GWh of electricity.

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 5 units of straflo turbines, each with 11.6MW nameplate capacity.
