The project is developed and owned by VERBUND Hydro Power.
Limberg II is a pumped storage project. The net head of the project is 370m. The penstock length is 585m. The penstock diameter is 4.8m. The project cost is $520.414m.
Development Status
The project construction commenced in 2006 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2011.
Contractors Involved
Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 240MW nameplate capacity.
Andritz Hydro supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 270 MVA.
