Description

The project was developed by Longtan Hydropower Develop. China Datang, Guangxi Investment Group and Guizhou Development and Investment are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 65%, 30% and 5% respectively.

Longtan is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 16,210 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 179m.

Longtan (Longtan II) consists of 2 units of francis turbines with 700MW nameplate capacity.

The Longtan (Longtan II) has 2 electric generators installed at the site.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2001 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2007.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to China Southern Power Grid under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Longtan (Longtan I) is equipped with Voith Hydro Shanghai francis turbines. The phase consists of 7 turbines with 700MW nameplate capacity.

GE Power supplied 7 electric generators for the Longtan (Longtan I). The generator capacity is 778 MVA.
