Luding is a 920MW hydro power project. It is located on Dadu river/basin in Sichun, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2005 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2011.

The project was developed by Sichuan Luding Hydropower Development and is currently owned by China Huadian with a stake of 100%.
Luding is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 219.5 million cubic meter. The penstock diameter is 9.6m. The project generated 3,782 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $1,057.38m.
The project construction commenced in 2005 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2011.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to State Grid Corporation of China under a power purchase agreement.
DEC Dongfang Electric Machinery was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of francis turbines, each with 230MW nameplate capacity.
Harbin Electric Machinery supplied 4 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 230 MVA.
