Description

Abu Dhabi National Energy, Sumitomo and Korea Electric Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60%, 20.4% and 19.6% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel oil.

Development status

The project got commissioned in July 2014.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Abu Dhabi Department of Energy under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 1,600MW.

Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Siemens were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.

Siemens was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 4 units of SGT5-4000F gas turbines.
