Ma Ji Tang is a 55.5MW hydro power project. It is located on Zishui river/basin in Hunan, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1976 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1983.

Description

The project was developed by Hunan Zijiang Power Development. China Power International Development, CGN New Energy Holdings and Hunan Xiangtou Holding Group are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 63%, 18.5% and 18.5% respectively.

The hydro reservoir capacity is 103 million cubic meter. The project generated 187.629 GWh of electricity.

The project construction commenced in 1976 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1983.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to State Grid Corporation of China under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of bulb turbines, each with 18.5MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied 3 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 18.5 MVA.
