Malutang I, China

Malutang I is a 100MW hydro power project. It is located on Panlong river/basin in Yunan, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2002 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2004.

The project is developed and owned by Wenshan Malutang Power Generation.

Malutang I is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 4.15 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 228m. The penstock length is 645.1m. The project generated 697 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $54.3m.

The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 50MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 2002 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2004.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to China Southern Power Grid under a power purchase agreement.
