Description

The project was developed by Merkur Offshore. APG Groep, The Renewables Infrastructure Group and InfraRed Capital Partners are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 64%, 25% and 11% respectively.

The wind turbines in the Merkur Offshore Phase I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Merkur Offshore Phase II are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The project generates 1,750,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 500,000 households, offsetting 1,600,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The turbines installed on the project are using Tubular Steel towers.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2018.

Contractors involved

GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 66 units of Haliade 150-6MW turbines, each with 6MW nameplate capacity.

GE Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 10 years.
