Description
The project was developed by GHESA Ingenieria y Tecnologia and is currently owned by Acciona Energia.
The project generates 128GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 40,000 households, offsetting 115,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $54.52m.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

The project got commissioned in November 2010.

Thermodyn was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project.
Acciona Energia is the O&M contractor for the project.
