Description
The project was developed by Formosa I Wind Power. Orsted, JERA, Macquarie Corporate Holdings, Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners and Swancor Holding are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 35%, 32.5%, 25%, 7.13% and 0.37% respectively.
The wind turbines in the Miaoli Zhunan Formosa Phase IA are installed on fixed foundations. An array of jacket foundations feature in the phase.
The wind turbines in the Miaoli Zhunan Formosa Phase IB are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.
The Tubular Steel towers installed at the Miaoli Zhunan Formosa (Miaoli Zhunan Formosa Phase IA), site are 90m high.
Development Status
The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in April 2017.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Taiwan Power under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.191kWh for a period of 20 years.
Contractors Involved
Miaoli Zhunan Formosa (Miaoli Zhunan Formosa Phase IA) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SWT-4.0-120 turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 4MW nameplate capacity.
Miaoli Zhunan Formosa (Miaoli Zhunan Formosa Phase IB) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SWT-6.0-154 turbines. The phase consists of 20 turbines with 6MW nameplate capacity.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the Miaoli Zhunan Formosa (Miaoli Zhunan Formosa Phase IA). The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2017, for a period of 10 years.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the Miaoli Zhunan Formosa (Miaoli Zhunan Formosa Phase IB) for a period of 15 years.
